Hi my name is Gina and I......
injured my toddler son. Yes it is true. I nominate myself for the worst mother of the year.
Today dh and I were moving the BBQ onto the deck. Grady was on the deck as well. As we were headed up he tried to head down the stairs. I reached out with one hand and grabbed him so he wouldn't fall. I grabbed him by the wrist and heard POP. He started screaming and wouldn't stop he was in pain... a lot. So off to the ER we went. Turns out that grab that stopped him from a fall dislocated his wrist and elbow!!!!
The doc tried to pop it back into place and they took x-rays. He still isn't moving his arm and he is still in pain. but the x-rays did not show a break. They will be reviewed by the radiologist in the morning and if there IS a break we will get an immediate call. If he doesn't start using his arm tomorrow we have to go back as well. So here it is midnight and I am still on a rush of adrenaline, and guilt. lots and lots of guilt.

I had a friend do the same exact thing to her daughter. She tried to grab her from a fall and dislocated her wrist and elbow. It took Haley a good week before she'd even use her arm for small things again. Her xrays didn't show any breaks either, so it must just have been REALLY sore. She was just about a year and a half when it happened, so same age frame too I think.
