so

Do I venture out tomorrow? The two older boys have school tomorrow FINALLY!!!!! I need to pick up some things at the store hmmmmm. I guess I could and maybe I should. The weather has cleared up a bit and it is warmer and it is raining not snowing so the roads should be in better condition. I only have to go one town over I guess I will quit being a big baby and go

I am such a

domesticated type woman! I get power back and besides kicking on the heater what is the first thing I do? I start the dishwasher hahaha Then I start a a load of diapers. And settle down to get on the internet of course ;)
Tonight I am catching up on laundry. Why? because I am terrfied to get behind again and have the power go out or something. I am certifiable haha

My middle son told me that caring for his animals may be a bit much for him "at this point in my life". The things they say I swear! He says he is taking a day to think about it because he loves them so much but he is considering finding his Guinea Pigs a new home. It is incredibly grown up thinking for him and I am leaving it up to him. He told me how hard it is. Ahhh the things they do when they are transitioning to making adult decisions. I want to make it all better and do all of the caring for the animals for him but man there is only so much I can do in a day.

Biggest hurdle

well maybe not hurdle but the biggest expense and the biggest project for the adoption home study is the beds and bedding . Well today I ordered the bunk bed. It is a full/full bunk bed with a twin trundle (good for sleepovers ;) ) --my son wanted me to add it does NOT come with the care bear!!

Here is a picture

We decided on this bedding.

And #1 decided against his blue camo! So I do not have to worry about blue overload ;)
instead he went with desert camo. Why camo? I don't know! but he likes it and it will match the paint in his room....double bonus!

Radio

You know there are SO many more options out there for radio now. I mean it is quite different from your choices were whatever was between the numbers on your dial you know? Look at some of the options, HDradio, satellite radio. The options with those are endless. OK from there go to choosing a radio! If you REALLY want to talk about a plethora of options well that is where it starts. Digital Radio, portables etc etc etc the possibilities are endless. Knowing what would suit you best is sometimes really hard. I would hate to waste any money on something that would not work the bext for us. Having a resource to help you muddle though it all to find the right thing.... golden.

Power

The power to be me, the power of greyskull, the hour of power? Noooo Glorious POWER, electricity, my connection to the outside world and heat.
Since Sunday night. Lots of snow and no power. No power=no heat. So BRRRRRRRRRR
3 kids 3 dogs 2 days no power. I need a vacation now!!! Hahaha Hubby is enjoying the heat wave on the East coast. I know he was a bit worried about us but we faired well. Our fridge and its contents did not fair well. So I have that to clean out (gag) BUT the good news it looks like our big freezer survived! So our stocked meat freezer is not 1k down the drain THANK YOU.
The sad news... All of our fish died. It was just too cold. Even #1's betta died. He loved that little fish too.

It is late

And Even with Ambien onboard I am loopy but not sleepy. It bites. I cannot wait for the water guy to get here (we are running a bit low). I cannot wait to get started painting little mans room! I am excited about the way it will turn out. Well worth the little bit of hard work.

Other than that I am cold but toasty under the blankets :) I certainly hope we get a delivery from out propane guy in the next few days we are running a bit low.

Oh my......

Terrible television commercial. I hate to even post who it is Because that would be promoting their business. Let me give you a synopsis of the commercial. The couple is sitting on the couch, each person at separate ends. They are visibly peeved at one another. A commercial comes on tv it is a woman who says something like " my husband served me with divorce papers Christmas Eve. It ruined my christmas. So I hired XYZ law firm and ruined his New Year" (as the commercial lady gets a sly evil grin on her face) The couple after seeing this commercial look at one another and scramble for the phone. They then wrestle over the phone (insert me rolling my eyes here)
I am all for getting a lawyer who will go for the throst if needed. But I thought this commercial was terrible

Wedding stuff

OK really I should be stopped from making wedding posts I really should. I already am married. I do not want to start all over with a younger model or anything but still. Wedding things are great to look at though ;) Like I said my sister is getting married soon and a friend of mine from high school sent me a reminder that she is getting married too. I wonder if either will be sending outcustom wedding invitations? I know when I got married we printed out some cheesy invites and called it good :)

Snow baby

Colonel Mustard Plays Poker - Part ACE

Colonel Mustard Plays Poker - Part ACE!

Ok this is funny as heck. Very cute put together video. Definitely good sense of humor there. Of course that is coming from me and my warped sense of humor ;) Give 'em an atta boy for creativity and visit them at PokerDIY - Connecting Poker Player for Live Games.
Connect with folks in your area should you want to play a real in person game. Having poked around the site a bit it truly does have something for everybody. You can learn to play poker, join a league, make friends, hey who knows stranger things have happened but maybe find romance as well. What a story for the grandkids "I met your Grandma when she kicked my behind at Texas Hold 'em"

SNOW

We have some snow AND it is sticking :) the kids are happy the dogs love it too. ME? Well I would rather stay inside here it is warm to be honest hahaha.Since there is a little snow I bet there will be no school tomorrow! Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Save me!!!!!

Credit card

OK like I need more Credit cards. I can hear my husbands resounding NO MORE right now. BUT if I were in the market for another credit card there are a few things I consider when looking for Credit Cards , What interest rate, what bonuses, reliability of the bank, and credit line. Lots of options out there now. Heck I have a debit card that earns me cash back!

Norfolk angst

Well DH got in late last night. He dislikes Norfolk with a passion. He doesn't like where he is staying and the fact he has quite a hike back and forth to base. He doesn't like the fact it is $500 a week to stay where they have him (who can blame him for that?) Personally I think it is a lot of displaced anger in the fact he just wants to be home. Again though who could blame him right?

cars for sale

Hey none of us want to get a lemon right? Well unless you are making lemonade :p but I am talking about cars here. I have been looking at some Used Cars For Sale. Oh man I remember my 1982 Camaro Belinetta. I had that car when I first had my oldest son :) A car seat in the back seat of a camaro is soooo much fun haha. you can find Camaro for sale
Or Hondas... Very reliable Which is what we have now. I remember a friend had this green little honda in high school. We went everywhere in that thing Civic for sale . Now I haven't had any experiences with Pontiacs... Sunfire for sale I think an ex had one once. But he was an idiot hence the reason he is an ex LMAO.

Down

No I am not depressed or anything. My dog, my Border Collie Taz is getting up there a bit in years. I am actually watching him get and act older. Aside from his distinguished grey hairs he is having some physical problems too. He has had hip problems but they are getting worse :( He has days where he can barely get up. Some days where he cannot walk on one of his hind legs. I can see what is going to happen with him and I do not like what the future holds. I really hope he hangs on several more years though.

Diamonds

They are a girls best friend right? If not they should be and I do have to say I need some more best friends ;) Dh and I have talked over the years about getting a new ring for me for our tenth anniversary. But as time goes by I see less and less of an opportunity to actually get that ring. Darn life for getting in the way ;) We talked about a three stone anniversary band. I think those are perfect. A diamond for each - your past present and future. Lots of meaning. My husband brought up that new diamond necklace the other day the one where the diamonds progressively get bigger. Ugh what is the name of that darn thing...Ahh that is right the journey pendant (I found it here Abazias Diamonds features over 80,000 loose diamonds and a wide selection of jewelry at wholesale prices. ) . He liked what that represented. I can say that I appreciate the diamond jewlers for their commercials on television hehe. Well hey I can hope I get a new piece of jewlrey. I do not ever want to replace the wedding band or engagement band that I have though. They mean so much to me. They were also family rings (from my mother in law)

Today

marks the end of shore duty. While it was a nice few years it is time for dh to move on back to the big ol' Grey beast. Dh is now back east and will be in school for a bit. I want to say that I need to blog about every trip to the airport! It was a breeze today. The hellish back-up had a lull when we got to the airport!
Today was ok dropping him off at the airport. The baby didn't want Dad to leave though and he cried so much he made himself sick. First note to self.... carry Febreeze in the van at all times ;)
I am doing OK not a big deal. It will be an adjustment though. This shore duty he was only gone a few weeks at a time. This is just a bit longer.
I have a few projects. Painting #2's room and putting together his bed should take the longest.
Well that is it for my current rambling :)

Viva

Las Vegas. From a time of the rat pack to the ever growing metropolis that is is now... Vegas has made sigificant growth especially over the past fer years. A few of our friends have got out of the Navt and then moved to Vegas. It seems as well as Las Vegas real estate the job market is booming too . Finding a home can be challenging though from what I have heard. Being the type of town that it is though it seems many find a place to rent before moving on to vbuy. I think though that is a waste of money. It is best to do some research and get a house to move directly into. In looking for what I would LOVE to move into ( a 5 bedroom 2 car single family home.... I was given a few options that really sparked my interest. For the square footage and location the prices cannot be beat either! I was amazed at the fact that they had a selection of 5 bedroom homes. Those can be so hard to find.

no sleep plus

Holiday traffic + a drive to SEATAC + possible snow = one hellish day!!
Wish me luck

While I have a spare

moment. I would like to ask everyones opinion. Number one son wants this bedroom comforter set

Which is fine and dandy. The question? What color do I paint his room? would light blue be too much blue?

Lets hear ideas!

Packing

It is about done. I hate it. Enough said

bittersweet

I am upstairs as the guys are downstairs playing X Box. I am here packing my husbands suitcase while they have their guy time. OK true I could do the packing tomorrow but still it would cut down on our us time tomorrow. I am really back and forth between being OK with it and it IS really a short time to being pissed off.
I will have a lot to keep me busy. I have the holidays the kids school stuff, doing a deep clean once over on the whole house, putting together a bed (yes by myself!) and hmmm maybe a roadtrip??? I want to go get my tattoo too. BUT it is a matter of money and time/timing. I will definitely keep busy. And once again since DH won't be here for my birthday I will not age ;) I wonder how he feels being married to a 24 year old? hahahaha
I do have to say I feel lucky. Over 10 years we have only missed one anniversary and this coming Christmas together. So with his job I consider myself pretty damn lucky. I know there will be more missed but hey not bad ;)

Turkey

Well the turkey is in the oven and is cooking away. I made my pies before ;) So they are in the fridge. My oldest son is assisting me in making the maple sausage dressing. My middle son premade the green bean casserole and it will get thrown in the oven in a bit. I try to teach the boys how to cook. See I am not totally a sexist ;p. They have fun helping with dinner especially the holiday dinners.
I could use a nap but I am not sure that would fly. We are playing a family board game today, and we are also watching a movie. so lots of family time today

Gaming

It is no secret here that we are big into gaming. We have a few of the systems, Xbox, Gamecube, Playstation etc. Now too there is a way to play some of the classic Nintendo games online! Even better play free online games! The kids laugh at DH and I when we talk about Pole Position and Pong haha I cannot wait for them to talk about Things like duck hunt and Donkey Kong etc and have their kids look at THEM like they grew two heads

Pictures

Well I am disappointed to report that there are none. I had everything scheduled to go get them done and then DH woke up and did not feel good so I had to cancel. . I will have to snap some pictures today and tomorrow. I am not upset about it at all. The boys and I will go out and get pictures done together sometime next week or so.

Christmas

My middle son is hmm well how do I describe him? He is very inquisitive and have an insatiable thrist for knowledge. He loves all kinds of topics out there. Some of his favorites though are science and geology. Seriously this kid can talk your ear off at dinner about the different types of rocks. Not to mention of of the things he wants for Christmas is a chemistry set. I am not sure how good of an idea this is hahaha can you imagine coming home to a home out of weird science. Though I do not think he is at the stage of making himself a woman yet. Unless she cooks for him or something HAHAHA I think though that he would LOVE microscopes as a present. He could look at a variety of things and delve deeper into things.. I think out there I can find various slides, biology slides and geology slides I am sure. I am laughing though because I have this mental picture of this mad scientist with this chemistry lab and face buried in a microscope. Hmmm I want an addition to the house for a few things….wonder if dh will add a mad scientist basement? haha

My son

My youngest. He is odd to be honest just like the rest of us. He really fits in LOL He has for months had he own little exclimation of surprise and joy. Not something that was ever said by us. He says "Hazaa!!" I thought that it sounded familiar. Then I heard someone say it the other day and realize it IS a real expression haha.

Megaglobe

OK so I have been told there is a fine line between creative and funny and off your rocker. I won't tell you what side of that fine line we tread on. I am sure you all know that already :) We were presented with the challenge of making a video about Megaglobe and how We Want Megaglobe to hurry up an release. We had fun with this. The kids came up with their lines and added their own oh so special whiny drive me up a wall voices. Perfect! Like I said though the biggetst factor is we had fun with it. They are begining to really like making videos for my blog. This could be a VERY VERY bad thing for all who read here hahaha

Be prepared

Today we are heading to have family pictures taken. I think the boys would really benefit from having a new picture with Dad to look at. All in all heck I am just hoping it all goes well LOL I hope we all can take a good picture. Getting us all coordinated can be a chore

Family

This is so neat. Family trees and tracing your roots is so darn hard. Having a book that traces your family name is so neat. Our Name in History would make a great Christmas present expecially for those in the family who enjoy geneology

It would make a great coffee table book. A certain conversation piece that is for sure. I wonder what neat anecdotal type things may pop up with my maiden name LOL

More

Jones sodas labels. I forgot to post two of the label entries. One is the first one DH posted. So if you happen to want to vote for them. You can always for for each one ;) HAHA Only if you want of course.
Well I am off to make a video. Got to have fun with making a few bucks ;)

The Jones labels

The first
The second

OK so

It is a little late for me LOL but there are a lot of stretch mark preventatives out there during pregnancy. Me well I am on the fence I think honestly that either your skin type is prone to stretch marks or you aren't and not much will help that. BUT I also believe that some of these products can lessen the visibility of the stretchmarks.

Yummmm

Well the house smells wonderful. I am baking my pumpkin pies today. OMG they smell so darn good. Anyone want to give suggestion to how I am going to convince the boys that they have to wait until Thanksgiving to eat some??
I am making cheese cake to and som pumpkin cheesecake muffins. The muffins are simply because they sound so good!

VOIP

There are getting to be more and more VOIP options out there daily. We have come so far from the typical old Ma Bell was our only option! Finding a good company and a good deal are always on peoples list. This is something new, well new to me anyhow. We all know I can be a bit behind on things hahaha You can get International calling cards online. So not only VOIP BUT a phone card? Cool. This company, Pingo is a part of iBasis which a a public, NASDAQ rated company. I think it says a lot about the company that about 90% of the people who do purchase through them do reorder

Jones Soda

A few pictures I have in to become label pics for Jones Soda. So vote it you all get the chance. Purty please with sugar on top.

Picture 1

Picture 2

My handyman

Well The pay is not much. I cook for him do his laundry and clean for him... OK and produce little clones of him too haha. But my handyman fixed my dryer today!!! YIPPIE!! The part finally came in and it is fixed!! It is drying quick again!

Holy Tamale

Now that is one happy looking Tamale! I am glad she had a nice time in Vegas. Another payperpost blogentry here ;) Oh I tell you though if that HP digital camera is anywhere close to the quality of thier printers... You will have an AMAZING camera for years. We get HP printers ONLY. Great products great costomer support. Go out enjoy your camera. Go on a hike take some vitamin water hehehe and take LOTS of pictures.A new HP camera would rock my world! I love taking pictures and digital cameras have opened up a whole new world of photography for me. So you all at PPP have my address send a camera this way when you get a chance. We have three adorable boys who would love to ham it up for the camera.

share

in my joy! Today a mere $2.55 later.... our adoption packet is in the mail and should arrive tomorrow! Of course I have equisite timing and I am doing all of this immediately before the holidays ;) But heyit is all in!
My doctor put a REALLY nice note on my paper saying how she knew me personally and I was fit medically and emotionally for adoption, I was a great mother and would be a great mother to adopted children as well :)

banks and all

Money seems to be the hot topic money and credit cards. Especially around this time of year when a lot of us seem to be spending it like it is going out of style. Jacking up our balances on our credit cards is a huge pitfall to most of us. Some people take out loans to buy that big ticket item during the holidays or pay off debt after the holidays. I think the only other big expense we have are our mortgages but I certainly hope we all aren't out making impulse HOME purchases LOL. Of course you cannot forget to figure in home insurance too. And flood insurance. FLOOD a word that strikes fear into the hearts of many washingtonians haha
It is funny I was just talking about all of my bank accounts the other day. It is getting a little easier to suirrel away a few dollars here and there in my current accounts. I have my savings accounts at those three different banks.

Monday

Is upon us. I am about to hit the hay here. Monday will bring a new week and a busy Monday. I am not looking forward to next week then again I am. I love to cook so Thanksgiving is fun and I love cooking for family and having us all together. Our adoption packet goes out tomorrow morning :) I am super excited. I just really hope it all goes well.
Oh well night all. Lots to do and too few hours to do it in ;)

Green tea

I have heard about the miracle of Green tea. I mean not only the antioxidant properties but also for increasing ones metabolism and helping to aid in weight loss. Of course that brings to the front the topic of which KIND of green tea aides in all of these things? Some say that the overly processed and, to be honest, mass produced teas are ot as beneficial as the honest to goodness green teas from Japan. But I suppose that is always going to be up for debate :) I read about this Green tea weight loss story It almost seems unreal. I wish I could say I have had the same results. But alas, no. I do however still like a glass of iced Green tea. Maybe I will start to melt away too hehehe

Cleaning

the garage. Ugh it looks like it will be a multi MONTH process. We SO need a shed. But then I wonder are we getting a shed just to transfer the mess to another location? Do we have too much 'stuff'? I know a lot of the mess out there is bins of clothes and blankets and decorations and toys and bikes. Not too much on the frivilous side really UGH

Freelancing

If you make your living or heck even supplement your income by freelancing this is a terrific site to put yourself out there. If you need to learn about job opportunities and expand your business this is a great forum in which to do so. Let companies out there browse Services from freelancers. There is a small commission (only 6%) and that is better than a lot I have seen

Goodnight

I am hoping to be able to actually get some sleep tonight. Well a girl can hope right? I hate being all on edge due to no sleep. POOIE
I have some paperwork to finish up so everything will be ready to mail Monday morning. Doctor appointments and driving around to get things done what a Fun Monday.
By the way the Rachael Ray cookbook. Lots of nice ideas ! I cannot wait to try them.

My youngest

He HATES clothes, can't say that I blame him honestly. But the boy will strip out of his clothes and diaper in about 2.3 seconds. He is like some super stripper! It wouldn't be a big deal if he was potty trained.... you get the idea I am sure. You turn around and BAM he is naked! Putting him down for naps is especially dangerous. You put down a fully clothed baby and get up a VERY messy not for weak stomached baby.
I started with turning around his footie jammies so the zip up the back AH HA!! THAT slowed him down.... Now he does some Houdini getting out of a straight jacket thing. UGH! So now he has the jammies on backwards with another shirt on top of the PJ's! A HA that should take him a couple of days to find his way out of!

Influences

There are a lot of things I try to shield my children from. I do not let them watch a lot of programming I find questionable. Yet I say this as I hang my head in shame. I let them watch a crazy man in the bathroom!! He was in his robe, he used a terrible accent and my son was influenced by him... He decided he wanted to try to become a catfish like Antonio who influenced me to get paid to make videos (see Catfeesh video below hehe)
Here is the Little Man's transformation

Guppy wannabe

It is odd

Some people can go through their lives and not have a bank account. I was perfectly content with ONE bank account. Now I sit here and I am the 'proud owner' of THREE accounts with three different banks. It is nothing shady I swear ;) We have our main bank, our bank with our car loan that is also a savings account and another account through another bank because of discounts they offer.

Cooking

As I posted earlier we are looking for ideas for adding some, hmmm., variety to our monthly menu. I like this BigOven Recipe Software - 160,000 Recipes What a great idea!! I can plug in our leftovers and get ideas on what to make with those leftovers.

I love the layout of the pages too

very easy to navigate and read etc.
I cannot wait to try some of these recipes on my willing Guniea Pigs....er I mean the family

Water

A little bit ago the water company asked if it was OK if they used our house to get the test samples from. We said sure no problem.
Fast forward to last night. Because of all of the flooding they tested again. We got a notice about 7pm yesterday saying to NOT drink any water. The entire well system is contaminated with E Coli! Can I say in the most eloquent way possible EWWWW
We already use bottled water for drinking water so that is a non issue. but there are other things we have to consider laundry dishes hand washing UGH
10 days of this

DUI's

We lived in San Diego for severeal years. I would like to say we have experienced it all in on some level. Being such a hub for young and well let's say dumb military members (not saying they are ALL that way) we saw our share of DUI's as well. A San Diego DUI lawyer who will fight for you is a plus. I have read over a list of possible defenses and the bulk are ones I had heard several times being used and WON.

We got

The fire extinguisher. We got a larger than required fire extinguisher and we are actually going to mount it to the wall and not put it under the sink. Though we will have two more in two other locations this one will be near the front door.
We also got one waterproof mattress pad. They are so much nicer now and not all crinkly sounding. I still have to get one more twin size and two full sizes. But we are closer to finishing :)

vitamins

You know there have been a lot of studies recently about essential fatty acids and kids with ADHD. Supposedly taking one of the supplements daily with help a child focus and help lessen the symptoms of the illness. We have been trying that for awhile with the oldest. Me, Well I take multivitamin and so does DH. Actually the whole family. I really try to make sure we take adequate vitamins around here. But I also try not to over do it too. I have used Ginger for different reason along the years I have heard about Ginger Root supplements and those seem like something else I may want to keep on hand as well

Do you know

What it is like to have a child who is SO damn bright that you know they are capable of ANYTHING possible. But that same child brings Home a D and an F on his report card. Why? because he doesn't feel the need to participate in class or turn in assignments. Because of couse "I know it all anyway Mom"
12 year olds should come with Valium (for the parents) or something.
Oh and he thinks grades aren't important because he is going to get a music scholarwhip to college and become a musician UGHHHHHHH

shoes

OK I admit I am not a shoe hound like many stereotypical women. I am more of a comfort and function over style type of gal. Of course I have big old boats for feet. Makes finding anything cute quite the challenge. Hmm maybe that in itself has formed my ambivilance toward shoes. Anyway back to the task at hand. I have always looked at Uggslike the Ugg Classic Short and the first thing that came to mind was Oh my goodness how flippin' ugly. But They are a very comfortable shoe. And with the cold weather upon us here in WA I may have to go out and get myself a pair.

Floors

True enough we did buy a home that was a new construction. BUT we bought at the end of the construction so we were not able to upgrade to the things we would have wanted. Such as wood flooring down stairs, better carpeting and actual tile in the bathrooms. We have looked into switching the boys' bathroom to white ceramic tile. I think the white would reall set off the bright 'wake your butt up in the morning' yellow that is on the walls. Ceramic Tile On Sale - Fast Floors They have a great selection of ceramic tiles. And One of the only places I have seen online to buy tile. It seems too that they have a pretty knowledgeable sales team, which is always a plus when those questions are bound to pop up!

So Monday

I have a full-ish day a doctor appointment in the morning another appointment after that. Then I have to go down and pick up a car seat and then pick up or pig. No we aren't getting a cute little Wilbur for the backyard... we are picking up our butchered hog at my most favorite butcher Silvana meats. Just a lot of 'busy time' and too much time in the car

The greatest

Compliment..... Today was the conference with my middle sons teacher. In all testing he is well above third grade, closer to fourth/end of fourth grade level. She said she didn't have any suggestions that he is a JOY to have in class, that he is VERY giving and when he gets a prize in class he always gives it to a child who hasn't got one, and that whatever we are doing at home to keep it up because whatever it is it is working :)
I talked to her about the fact that we were going to adopt and there might possibly be a child #2's age. We wanted to know if she and the school had experiences with foster care children and the issues that may arise. She said we will be the perfect family for adopting and she was so excited for us. And yes she and the school have experience and are understanding with foster/adopt children.

We all need

A little bit of laughter in our lives.
Now I will mention I find a lonely man in the bathroom with a video camera a bit on umm the disturbing side. Makes you wonder first what in the world is he doing in the bathroom with a video camera. And second who in the world taught that man such impressive accent skills?? HAHAHA That look reminds me of those guys in the cheesy old western movies. That eye let you know that they were evil. So should we ask? Is he pure evil? Or maybe just wicked with a six shooter??! catfish No no say it right CATFEEEEEEEEEEEESH
Antonio Master Impressionist

Today

we went and did the whole Costco thing. I swear I can go into that place for ONE thing and come out with 20!! I wonder If you work there if you get a discount or anything?? That would rock. Anyway I got a new cookbook the Rachael Ray 365 days cookbook. Or something like that. It is neat and I cannot wait to try some of the recipes. Now It rubs me the wrong way when she says EVOO or Yummo but her recipes are great :)

Cheese for my Whine

er um I mean wine! Get this. There is a 'diet' wine. I could not believe it I have heard of lite beer but diet wine? Holy Hannah that is a new one to me. At 20 calories a glass it sounds like a great idea. I wonder how the taste is though. it is no secret I love a good glass of wine. I am partial to red wines. I would love to try wines from all over the world (a hint to all of my friends living abroad hehe). The above site even has recipes for wine. When I was a kid I remember my grandmother making dandelion wine. I wish I had got that recipe from her.

Intestines

And guts and well the digestive system in general yuppers that is what I am studying now. Can I tell you a secret? I like this section more than the one on muscles. OK maybe it isn't much of a secret... But studies are going well enough I need more hours in the day or less sleep. Seeing as how I do not want to give up on sleep and I cannot make more hours appear in the day I am stuck trying to manage the time I do have

Tenacious D Pick of Destiny

Watch Jack Black in the exclusive Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny trailer at videodetective I think Jack Black is a hillarious guy. This movie looks like it has potential too. You can check out that site, videodetective for more info on the movie and there is also a giveaway!
I think we need some good comedies this time of year. I am really hoping this one is as good as it seems. Check out the trailer

I am glad

Most of my friends don't think I am a coplete nutjob when I say "hay had a dream about you and you were not doing so great. Are you OK?" It is weird most of the times my dreams are right on and whoever it is, IS having some problems. Sometimes though I am wrong. This time, I was wrong. Which makes me happy hehe

With

the holidays right around the corner....well heck they are close enough that they are not even all the way around the corner. With the holidays come lots of gatherings, holiday parties and having to find a gift for that one person on all of our lists that is almost impossible to buy for. Bringing along a host or hostess gift that can be enjoyed by all is a terrific option. America's #1 Gift Basket Website offers SO many tasty treats for every holiday occasion.

Talk about a gift basket that has everything, take a look at this whopper of a gift basket!

Or these cookies.

Dang things look more like works of art than cookies! I am amazed at the talent some people have.
Some of the Thanksgiving baskets they have are just so darn adorable. I wonder if I could justify getting one of them for our thanksgiving hostess this year. But considering I am the hostess ummm I do not think my husband will go for it hahah
Oh wait it gets worse! they have Mrs. Fields cookies! I remember going to the mall when I was in high school and my friends and I would always stop and get a cookie! Now that brings back some memories

Party

The middle one is at a birthday party tonight. I know on a school night ugh. But tomorrow is laste start Wednesday. He is at the movie theatre watching Flushed Away and might I add that I am a bit jealous because I want to see that movie darnit! lol

My sinuses are still BAD I mean TERRIBLE. Nothing is helping I wonder if maybe I have a sinus infection of something? Ugh oh well I will have my doctor appointment Monday if I am still having problems I will ask her about it.

The little one is getting closer to the whole potty training thing. Making connections between dirty diapers and wanting to sit on his potty. Now he just needs to work on his timing and communication.

I read

about Dermacia on this site. It sounds pretty interesting. Anyone who knows me knows I am not much of a make-up type of gal. The concept of this stuff is interesting though. Getting a good make-up to do a good cover-up with blemishes and not feel like you have spackle on is hard to find. Paying for just shipping I am not sure you can go wrong. I wonder how it will compare to my favorite feel like you aren't wearing any make-up make-up Bare Escentuals?

do all

Working and/or Moms in school feel this way? I am so darn torn. There are times where I feel slighted. I make a lot of sacrifices when it comes to dh's career and school. I make sure he has time to do what he needs and give him time alone etc. On the other hand I feel guilty for taking the time that I need for school and work etc.
This morning I got up made #3 and Dh breakfast. I made DH a pot of coffee and brought him breakfast in bed. Yet he still said today that he feels I am ignoring him? What in the world?
How do I balance it? How do I get what I need to get done, done and still make sure that the kids and hubby get what they need?
Anyone have any answers? I know I need to be superwoman (insert sarcastic rolling of the eyes here)

some PPP love

I swear blog advertising is the latest and greatest in advertising. totally tapping into a market that is, well ripe for the tapping lol. I love to do PayPerPost. The reason? It is fun and it it easy. I like taking in a few extra dollars. Makes me feel a bit more independant that is for sure. I am paying the car payment! How do you like them apples?? I get to post about what I want. I don't have to post anything I don't want to or I think is shady. It is really a win win situation. I am so glad my friend told me about it. She knows that we could use an avenue to make a few extra dollars and she knows that I would prefer to stay at home with the boys rather than have to do the daycare thing.

List

I need to buy:
-A fireplace screen (if worker requires one since the gas is turned off to the fireplace)
-a LOCKABLE file cabinet
-another fire extinguisher
-waterproof mattress pads/covers
-bunk beds (at least one full/full bed)
-carseat (replace Grady's with a Britax and use his for foster child)

Not a bad list to be honest. Not too much to buy or do to get ready for the home study.

We went

out to dinner tonight. It was the honor a Veteran thing at the Golden Corral so the hubby got a free "thank you" meal. The kids love that place and it really isn't that bad.
Hopefully I will get the part for the dryer tomorrow. The heater coil is the culprit. I need to get laundry done is a timely manner none of this taking FOREVER to dry business.
Tomorrow dh has his appointment for the adoption paperwork. The middle son has a birthday party to go to at the theatre in the evening. so this means I have to sneak out sometime in the morning and get a present for the kid. UGH maybe I could talk my handsome ever so loving husband into picking up a gift tomorrow on his travels. Though he thinks he is terrible at getting presents (he really isn't).
OK well I am going to watch some stuff off of my DVR and then catch some Z's
Have a terrific night all

Cool gift

OK with as much as DH is putting on his laptop I think thumb drives would be spectacular for him. the fact that they offer free engraving, well all of those little "kids" on the ship who have sticky fingers would have a hard time explaining why they have something with my husbands name on it! I am not sure having one on a keychain would work though. I can replace keys when he loses them but a drive too? Oh heck no!Just a note on the picture, no he would not like Pink or purple for his drive hahaha

Cross your fingers

Anyone who has dealt with military medical knows how challenging it can be to get ANYTHING done. Tommorrow DH goes in to get his medical paper done for our adoption packet. He doesn't technicaly need a physical just a doctor to go over his chart and fill in the appropriate boxes. Now let's just hope they do not make things difficult and make him reschedule or something like that.

tickets

Exclusive Tickets

A good place to find tickets to your favorite sports event or concert or even the Superbowl or a NASCAR event is priceless. Being able to find a ticket to that theatre event that is sold out... that could make a night of a lifetime for someone too. Exclusive Tickets offers shipping same day via Fed Ex

poor sickie

The hubby is sick. Turns out the sinus headache I have had was probably a head cold. DH got the full on head cold. He has slept away the most of the day. The thing is that he will rest a little and bam be all better damn him and his kick butt immune system LOL

Dark Side

Come over to the dark side Mwahahahaha OK seriously. The Dark Side of Oz.... also called the Darkside of the Rainbow. The Dark Side of OZ It is such a creative collaberation, a creative mix of Pink Floyd Dark Side of the moon and the Wizard of OZ. Syncing the musical tracks to the movie. In the package you get a used copy of both the Pink floyd Cark side of the moon CD and the Wizard of OZ DVD and a New remix of the two.
For fans of either Pink Floyd or the Wizard of Oz or both, it is a great gift. Since it is under $20 it makes a perfect Christmas present in my opinion.

Ultimate Le Sigh

Well we are at the under two weeks until DH leaves. Why do I drive myself nuts with these insane countdowns? We have enough stuff to keep us busy these couple of weeks that it shouldn't be an issue but I still dwell on it. I love the man I like to be around him I enjoy his company. Odd but true. I know too this marks the begining of sea duty again. The begining of I will miss him more than I see him.
True one less dish to make for dinner one less persons laundry to do but I will miss him. Aside from the fact he is not only my friend but lover, he is my extra set of hands and my rock, someone I can talk to about anything and someone who offers a different opinion when I may need it.
UGH
you know what it weird too? I will miss him when he is gone but I am not looking forward to adjusting to retirement where he is home more either. Yes he will have a job but it won't be like the Navy has been.
Oh well I guess I should head down and figue out what needs to be done downstairs. Another thing I have to give up for a bit... my ME time

One more

Wedding post I swear!! OK one last one today. Speaking of favors like before candle wedding favors are kind of a good idea. I like the fact that it is something most everybody could use. No matter the type of wedding I had I could find a fitting candle favor. I do however think the champagne gel candles are cheesy. Sorry for those of you who liked them. haha If we were to do a beach wedding, even with the beaches here as they are. A beach teme would be really neat or oh a lighthouse. We have no shortages of lighthouses or weddings at lighthouses here!

Got the call

They are having a blast! They went to a base sponsored event at a place called Jungle Playland. Hey it is the right price... FREE. hahaha They are uber excited and are having fun with everyone else there. They have a big indoor playland and rockwall and laser tag etc.
Now If I could get someone over to clean the house.. along with the quiet it would be nirvana ;p

OK So

I have been doing a lot of talking about weddings and wedding stuff you would honestly think I was a bridezilla and planning her dream wedding. I guess I am doing it all a bit backwards and I got married and now I am looking at the cool and crazy wedding things. Yeah OK we all know I am one to do things my way anyway what makes this any different? hahaha. Some of the wedding favors I saw were really great others so cheesy I think I would have to get them just for the cheese factor. Of course This is all "planning" for a wedding that isn't happening. Hmmmm maybe I can patiently wait until one of my friends gets married and then dump all of this on them? hahaha

almost

I am almost alone. hmm is that like almost pregnant? Either you are or you aren't? hahaha tonight is Dad and Boys night out. The event they have planned is a bit late, from 8pm-10pm so Grady didn't go. So it is just him and I tonight. I reorganized his room today and now he has two beds in there. He still isn't sure what to think.
So we have an exciting night of laundry and changing sheets etc. I know how do I manage living so close to the edge?

Flashlights

I know I have talked about some of our licensing requirements before. One of which is ensuring each child has their own flashlight. It seems a little odd if you think about it but I guess I can understand it. They need to have a way for that instant panic that may set in when the power goes out and what not. There are SO dang many options out there for flashlights too. I know you are thinking No way. But WAY hahaha different brands and light types and those that you can shake up to light so they are battery free. I have my ultimate favortie, my Mag light. The one that is so big and heavy it actually doubles as a weapon. Seriously though I love it. I have had it for years it is super durable and it lights up a lot when you use it. I need to find something for all of the kids that is similar. Well not the can double as a weapon thing lol but durable reliable and all of that jazz. Finding something that is fun for the kids is a plus too. Oh and even better if I can get flashlights in all different colors so there is NO "that is mine" argument

A sign?

Maybe devine intervention or something. It seems that whenver I go out I come accross a nun or a priest. Odd no? It isn't like we live in a Catholic centered community or anything. Lets take Wednesday. Going to pick up my oldest and there is this nun and she makes it a point to look at me and smile. In costco. 20 miles away I run into a priest. OK is someone trying to tell me something here?
What are the chances of this happening most everytime I go out? We live in a small community.
Hmmm is this that sign from God people talk about and maybe I just don't get it?

Insurance

Well I got the call about our insurance. I took the Mazda off and but the Honda on. Our rates went up!!! Can you believe that? Yeah I am sure you can believe that. Ugh anyway you won't believe how much our premium went up a month. $2. HAHA yeah only $2. I am happy not much of a change at all

Stuff

We have a lot of preteen hmmm angst going on with my oldest. He thinks he is some sort of 'gangsta' (his term not mine) and thinks he is so cool and all of that. Yeah enough yo dog and homie this and that. Lets face it, the kid is not hard he is not cool he is acting like an idiot LOL I wish he understood it only makes him look like he is trying way too hard, which he is. But the attitude is getting him into trouble too. I pulled him aside last night and said that I knew this was a phase and a phase he may have thought he had to go through BUT he needed to get over it QUICKLY. So we will see how it goes.

Online recording

Dealing with cell phones and home phones and work phones I swear sometimes it feels like a juggling act. BrainCast Offers a way for you to utilize the internet and phone to create a centralized message and memo system. For me and the way my mind works... like when I am in traffic. Having a system where I could call and leave a memo for myself and or my husband. It would be really easy for me and hey I might be able to keep track of more or even organize more. It is a free service so I may give it a try

Sun breaks

Only a term used here in the Pacific Northwest but I love the term. It was used several times on the news this morning to describe the big ball of fire in the sky.
So we have a break in the downpour. I can stop building the ark I suppose.

Real Estate

We have a few friends living in the Dallas area. It is somewhere depending on where my husband gets work we may end up one of these days. Checking out Dallas Real Estate gives you an advantage. Getting in touch with a good agent, browse the listings and being able to see the available properties is great. Add onto that the fact that at closing you get a 1.5% CASH REBATE and you are golden. I wish we were offered a cash rebate when we closed on this house. That would have been SWEET and it would have paid for a lot around here. As we all know owning a home is just somewhere to throw all of your extra money hahaha

The angels

are singing and the future looks bright....
Why you ask?? Is it because of the weather? nope. It is because the older boys have school tomorrow!!! I love them ut it seems that when they are home from school especially an unplanned day off the kids go nuts!

Movies

It is no secret we watch our fair share of DVD's here. We hones
