OK lets give this a try
In addition to the ticket system we have here for the kids, I am implementing a reward system for TOTAL completion of chores every two weeks.
We are all avid readers. The kids love new books and want to read everything by certain authors. Now every two weeks the boys will have an opporunity to go to the bookstore and buy a book.
They will each have their own jar. When they hear about a book they want they can write the title down and stick it in their jar. If they do all of their chores for two weeks they get to reach into their jar and pull out a book title. THAT book is the one they get to buy.
It gives them both a daily 'immediate' goal (the tickets) and a gold ring to reach for. Plus it encourages reading. I see it as a win-win situation.
