Home Depot

loves me lol
Yesterday I picked up a few things. DH got my solar lanterns put up in the front of the house. They apparently "look cool".
I got new blinds for the younger boys' room. My handyman husband got those blinds up for me ;)
I also got some eggplant plants. Pierce and I transplanted them. He was so proud of himself and he was telling me all about the garden he will plant when he grows up :)

And then...

there will be six. We are taking in the younger sibling of our two foster sons. Those boys need to be together. I cannot imagine our three boys being apart.
So there we have it. Little boys coming out of our ears haha
I have been busy. But things are going fairly organized. Organization out of necesity I say.
DH has been home more which has been sectacular. Of course it is only a couple of hours before bed lol but still he is here!
Things are quiet here for the moment.... so I am going to take advantage of it hehe. talk to all of my loyal fans (hahar) later.

Waiting

I hate this I am waiting on all of these things to fall into place so I can plan some things or get other things done. I just really wished that things worked on my schedule. Yeah that is me dreaming haha

Well

Little man has been accepter into the highly capable program. This school districts 'gifted' progrram. He scored within the top 2% of the entire district. I am so darn proud of him and he was excited about the extra work and challenges. Seriously....he is like that hahaha
The foster boys Frankie and Pierce (of course not their real names ;) )are doing well. They are getting used to rules and structure and all that mess. They love to do chores. No seriously they love to help out and do something on their own. The pride they show is astonishing.
I am keeping up OK I need more sleep but that will happen when we fall into a schedule.

and now

there are five boys in this house. Our two foster boys are settling in fairly well so far. This is the honeymoon period though and I know there will be rougher times ahead.....for however long they are here.

part II

OK maybe I feel a little bad. Turns out the roommates took off with computers DVD's etc of the neighbors. I feel bad but I still didn't get a thanks.

Is it bad

that I don't like other peoples kids?? I know I know "But Gina you all are adoptingthey will be 'other peoples kids' " Well honestly no they will be our kids. I can raise them as I raise my children now. But hell I am not your free babysitter because I am an at home mom. Oh wait let me warn you....there is a vent coming haha.
The girl from across the street came over today because her babysitter wasn't at home. The door was left open no babysitter/roommate and none of their furniture. As I said roommates SUCK. So the girl hangs out here. No problem. 4 hours later her mom gets home and the little girl goes home. Do I get a Thank you? Nope. Should I bill the mom $10 an hour for emergency drop-in childcare?? haha

A litle story

You get a new shed and two parts are bent you call the company for replacement parts.
You are happy the company is so great about getting those parts out right away.

When the UPS gal comes to your door with a box that happens to be bent at a 45 degree angle you refuse delivery because seriously you do not want bent parts for your replacement parts right? That is why you wanted them REPLACED right??

You and the UPS Gal get a good laugh out of the condition of the 'replacement parts' and she takes the package back to her truck to send it back.

You then laugh and wonder how much longer it will be until the darn shed will have all the parts in the right condition and be built

LeSigh

My ode to the

WASL :

F YOU!!!!!

Short and sweet no??

I hate this test. Yes I used the word hate...so sue me. They base the entire years cirriculum around these tests. They teach to the tests. That is not fair to the kids and their future in my opinion.
Which brings me to post about MAW.

Anyway my oldest is stressing out over the test and getting good scores etc. He does not handle things like that well. I almost bet there will be some sort of outburst from him this week. I contacted his counselor to give him the heads up about his stress level.
My middle son is so excited because this is his first year and he loves tests and challenges like this etc. However if he does not do well it will crush him.

Today

DH picked up a Freecycle find. I got a 21 ft travel trailer. It has the whole nine yards kitchen, bedroom, bathroom dining etc etc.
So a little cleaning up and we will be good to go for camping!! Did I mention it was FREE?!?!?!

I went out to Home Deopt today. I wore my 'shirt with a statement' haha. My shirt reads "well-behaved women seldom make history." Not that I need to encourage men to look at my chest any more.... but it amazed me how many read the shirt and got a little laugh from it.

Morbid but an interest

I love to take pictures of so many things. Some of my photos are a bit from the pose and shoot standard. My newest favorite picture of my youngets is him sitting on a piece of driftwood overlooking the water. You don't even see his face in the picture. It replaces or maybe updates my old favorite his little baby feet in my hands......

Now off of people in pictures. Let's talk about another passion from behind the lense. Not tulips, or lighthouses.... but rather gravesites. I love older grave stones. Ones who seem to be standing strong yet weathered over the years. There are a couple of local cemetaries I want to go photograph. Plus I want to make a couple of special trips to see Bruce and Brandon Lee's graves. And also Jimi Hendrix. Not sure I can talk dh into going. He thinks I am a touch strange with some of the things I do and photograph. Yet he can also see the beauty I can capture in a photo. Or the emotion. One of the reasons I love photgraphy.

Overdue vent

I try hard to co-parent with my ex. I really do. I call and tell him about school and social triumphs. I call when he is haveing trouble. Do you see a theme here? Yes I call to keep him involved. I thought we were approaching his recent flushing of grades as a team. Well His dad said when he went to visit if his grades weren't all passing he couldn't go on the quads. Imagine my surprise on one of the phone calls home that my son told me how great the quad riding was going!! Yeah so his bad ass yeah he is not getting this cool thing because he screwed up he didn't stick with what he said. So it meant nothing. Way to follow through butthead

You know

You tell your kids to put their toothbrushes away. They seldom EVER listen so as I sit here watching my youngest use the oldests toothbrush to brush the dogs teeth. For a brief moment I just wanted to put that toothbrush back where it goes.... He would never know right??? Evil no??? I will of course replace it with a new one but the thought did scamper accross my mind if for only that fleeting moment. Ahh the things I could do to my kids that would screw with them and put them into therapy for years...... If they only knew

Thanks!

My husband is going down to SEATAC to pck-up the big man this evening. I am so damn tired I would go if I had to but I am relieved I don't have to.

Happy Easter

Well The miniman woke up at 0430!!! I sent him back to bed. that honestly is too early even for me. I was hoping to sleep in one day while dh was actually home. Yeah didn't work. Latest I slept was 730.
I made biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I now have the ham cooking. I am cooking up some asparagus and fingerling potatoes. Oh and tiramisu for dessert. Lots of food. I swear I cook for an Army a well fed army... but an army.
Happy Easter all we are headed out to hide 'eggs'. They are actually play-doh filled plastic eggs. Yeah everyone gets tired of deviled eggs and egg salad etc :p So I am not doing the traditional eggs this year.

Son you are lucky

that you are two states way right now. I love you very much and you are my son and you know I would fight for you until the end of time. BUT when our neighbor comes over to chat and asks when he is going to get back the $20 you "borrowed" with my permission of course (NOT) I want to string you up by your toenails.
Why in the world would you need money?
You have breakfasts and home, breakfast at school (yes I know I am not stupid), Lunch paid for at school plus whatever you take from home. You have new clothes, books, we are fun central here ....video games, trampoline, playground, foosball table....yeah you my dear want for nothing. I do however make you EARN any extra money you want to spend on whatever. Apparently that is too much to ask?? It is easier to lie to the neighbors and get their money hoping I won't find out. But you have to know somewhere in your head that I will and always do find out.

Ahhh ok much better.

mixed bag

Today I hd a mix of good and bad.

Bad (just to get it out of the way):
-I was called a bitch by another driver eh not a huge deal but dang it has been awhile since someone called me a bitch.
-I have to drive to the airport tomorrow late.

Good:
-I got 2 toddler bedding sets for the miniman from another Mom. Miniman LOVES them! An Elmo sports set and a NASCAR set.
-I got a box of 3T-4T clothing from another mom too. PERFECT for miniman for the summer!
-DH bought me a new dining table. Nothing fancy but it will serve the purpose! 4 chairs and a bench so it can seat 7-8. I am passing along my old table to someone who needs it.
-It has been great to have dh home for two solid days. Even though him being home on Friday makes today feel like Sunday (it has totally screwed me up)
-My oldest gets home tomorrow. I miss him. He has called me EVERY day he has been gone so in all actuality I guess I haven't had much time to miss him LOL

Die!! Die!!

Today little man said that his little brother was "freaking" him out because he was telling him and his friend "die!!Die!!" Well the miniman was not telling them to push up daisies he wanted to go OUTside! DUR He is just begining to speak (actually a lot) and not all of his words are perfect.
Today he learned the word 'Pole' apparently and he likes to point out ALL of them.

Clean-up Aisle 3!!!!

Haha Boy what an adventure today. First for the first time in MONTHS I got a chance to go out and get my shopping done without at least one kid in tow. I get to the bank just fin, go therough the commissary just fine. I get to Costco and I am almost done and I almost pass out!!
I got all clamy, light-headed, my heart started racing, and I start to black out. I sit down and it passes but I still felt like crap. I got home OK (obviously) and I feel OK now. Just odd. Not sure if it was recent sickness, my blood pressure the heat or whatever. Just pretty fricken scary.

Backtracking. At the commissary I had to get a cart from outside. I go to grab one, I see a lady coming up behind me, so I give her the cart and go back to get another one for me. I turn around and this lady is still standing there looking shocked. She says "Is this for me?" I told her yes. She then tells me that "that is the nicest thing anyone has done for me in a long time". Damn that struck me as soo sad. My giving her a shopping cart was the nicest thing to happen to her?? what a terrible life she must have or bad luck or something.

I forgot a few things including my shopping list AT HOME lol but that is par for the course for me.

I stood in the condiment aisle looking at olives and laughing. I know I don't get out often lol. But I stood there thinking.... "she needs to get her own damn olives"

Fun fun

The miniman LOVES the new trampoline. The net lets him jump as much as he wants and in every direction he wants. The boy loves to jump. We also put together a play cube it is aa pretty neat little activity with a slide and all.
The weather has been beautiful and we are taking full advantage of it. So in our yard we have a gigantic playset w/ clubhouse, swings, rock wall, tire swing, monkey bars a trapeeze bar etc A trampoline, sandbox, castle, and now the play cube. I think as long as I throw out drinks and food They could live out there!

I am hoping to get my garden started by next weekend. Some zukes and cukes this year. Tomatoes were a FLOP last year

Mold

the word strikes fear in the hearts of homeowners nationwide. It is such a hazardous situation. I remember when I was a kid the only mold we worried about was whatever was on the mystery leftovers that somehow found their way to the back of the frigde. I never knew mold could be such a big business. But there is no way to properly asses the potention unless you use a certified professional like. Pennsylvania Toxic Black Mold Inspectors. Something that can be fixed. IF it is caught early enough.

udpate on fun spoiler

Turns out DH never got to the note at work LOL He didn't wear the coveralls or forgot to check I cannot remember. Funny though ;)

money

OK once I get the house refinanced and the car refi'd. We will be saving about $300 a month :) not too darn bad. But considering I pay a bit over each payment.... well we will break even LOL

Another unrelated to Money thing. Miniman has started calling his brothers ya-ya. It makes no sense. He can say their names he just doesn't. I guess it is easier to call them the same thing??

/vent on

OK I have been through this before. I should know the "way things go". I THOUGHT my husband was supposed to be home hours ago. He had duty yesterday so I thought he would be home a little earlier or at least on time today. But see that is what I get for expecting something to happen. No biggie or anything. I just need to keep better notes as to when to expect the husband home. Lord knows lately if I do not make a note of it or put it on my calendar I will forget it!

fun spoiler ;)

When I do my husbands laundry specifcally his work uniforms I try to stick a little love note in his pockets. That way at some point during the work day he will find a little note from me. I swear I have become too predictible. He pats his pockets and if he hears the crinkle of paper he will take out the note and read it. Talk about ruining the fun geesh.
He did that yeasterday I told him "don't you dare read it! Put it back in the pocket and act surprised when you find it tomorrow!" What a silly man. Good thing I like him ;)

I like

The TV show The Ghost Whisperer. I love that and the show Medium. Who knows. Maybe because part of me believes a little bit of the possibilities of the concepts. Sort of reminds me of the "itch" I get. The name I give that feeling something is wrong. I know I am a rambling lunatic but you all love me anyway :)
OK back to watching The Ghost Whisperer series

Nice quiet....

hell who am I kidding?? I have the music cranked up I am getting some chores done. The miniman has stripped and is jumping around to the music saying Oi Oi Oi!!!! DH is putting up the trampoline, my middle son and his friend are out on the playset. And sad to say it but with all of the stress lately I am enjoying my break from my oldest for the week (he is in CA for Spring break). We can start fresh again when he gets home.
By the way the hubby picked me up some fanfreakintastic apple wine. It was easy to drink and didn't taste like wine... yeah it went quick hahaha
